The Tennessee Deaf movement plays a crucial role in pursuing freedom without bias, striving to empower and elevate the rights of the Deaf community. The mission aims to advocate for the preservation of Deaf cultural values, and civil and social inclusion while addressing the historical trauma through the lens of civilization, ultimately championing the right to freedom for the Deaf community The act of taking away hearing, coupled with bias, seeks to strip our culture, robbing the next generation of Deaf individuals of education. Exploring language deprivation, parental decision-making, intent, language access, environmental factors, language proficiency, skills development, and long-term consequences, our goal is to ensure equality within the American culture, treating the Deaf community as equals alongside BIPOC individuals."
